Day 1

Athens

Arrival in Athens : Meet and assist at Athens International Airport and transfer to your hotel. Rest of the day is yours to spend to explore this fascinating city.Athens. A magical city. It is the city where democracy and most of the wise men of ancient times were born. Day 2

Olympia

Depart from Athens for the Corinth canal (short stop). Drive to Epidaurus and visit the Ancient theatre, world famous for its outstanding acoustics. Proceed to Nafplion (short stop) and through the plain of Argos arrive to Mycenae. Visit the archaeological site and the Tomb of Agamemnon. In the afternoon (optional stop for souvenirs) depart for Olympia, the birth place of the Olympic Games. Accommodation in Olympia

Day 3

Delphi


Visit the archaeological site with the Temple of Zeus, the Temple of Hera, the altar of the Olympic flame, the Stadium and the archaeological Museum. Depart via PATRAS (short stop) to RION, cross the Corinthian bay by the bridge to ANTIRION. Pass by the city of Nafpaktos and from there on, along the coastal road to Delphi, known in ancient times as the navel of the world. In the afternoon visit the picturesque mountain village of Arachova. Accommodation in Delphi.

Day 4

Kalambaka

Visit the archaeological site, and the Museum of Delphi. Depart for Kalambaka via Central Greece (short stop at Lamia). Overnight stay in Kalambaka (a small town built at the foot of the majestic grey rocks and crowned by the Meteora Monasteries). Accommodation in Kalambaka.

Day 5

Athens

Leave in the morning for nearby Meteora to visit the BYZANTINE MONASTERIES. Return to Athens passing the heroic monument of Leonidas of Sparta at Thermopylae. Accommodation in Athens.

Day 6

Athens

From the Acropolis to Omonia Square, with the half-day Athens sightseeing and Acropolis museum tour you'll see all the famous sites of ancient and modern Athens on this comprehensive morning tour. Offering a perfect overview of the city, this guided half-day tour, the only one which includes headphone system will help you get your bearings if this is your first visit to Athens. We start with a photo stop at Panathinaikon Stadium where the first modern Olympic Games took place in 1896. It is the only stadium in the world that is built out of white marble. We then proceed, passing by Zappeion and The Temple of Olympian Zeus. We will then pass the Athens Trilogy which includes the University of Athens, the Academy of Athens and the National Library. We Continue passing by the National Garden, Hadrian’s Arch, St. Paul’s Church, The Parliament, The Tomb of the Unknown soldier, Schliemann’s House (Numismatic Museum), Catholic Cathedral, Old Parliament, Constitution Square, Russian Orthodox Church, and finally the ACROPOLIS where we will visit Propylea, Temple of Athena Nike, Parthenon, and the Erechtheion with its Porch of Maidens). We continue the tour with a short pleasant walk passing by the Herodion and Dionysus Theatre in order to visit the ACROPOLIS museum. We skip the lines of the new museum and proceed to see the main attractions such as votives, artifacts of everyday life, statues from archaic period, Caryatids, and of course the Parthenon hall with the metopes, the pediments and the frieze that will amaze you. Athens

Today, after breakfast you will check out from your hotel and be transferred to Athens Airport for your flight out.

ATHENS BY NIGHT TOUR & GREEK DANCE SHOW Tour time 20:30 Duration 3.5 hours

The tour starts with a visit to the main Greek port of Piraeus, passing by the most important points of the city (City Hall, picturesque yacht harbor of Microlimanoetc). Following the principal avenues and passing by the Temple of Olympian Zeus, the National Garden, the Parliament, Tomb of the Unknown Soldier, Catholic Cathedral, Academy, University, National Library and the Old Parliament we arrive at Plaka. CAPE SOUNION HALF DAY AFTERNOON TOUR Tour time 15:00 Duration: 4 hours

Begin your Sounio tour with a wonderful drive along the scenic coastal road which offers a splendid view of the Saronic Gulf, passing through some of Athens most beautiful suburbs (Glyfada, Vouliagmeni, and Varkiza). As you approach Cape Sounion, it rises like a sheer cliff out of the sea. At Cape Sounio, where you will visit the 5th century B.C. Temple of Poseidon with one of the most breathtaking panoramic views in the world(on a clear day you can see at least seven islands).The precipice is a sheer 197 foot drop to the sea. Land masses to the west stand out in sharp profile: the island of Aegina backed by the mountains of the Peloponnese. The beauty of the surviving Doric columns has inspired many poets, including Lord Byron who carved his name on one of the columns.
